Community visits centred on livelihood and environment, not spectacle

Southern Ethiopia
Mursi Area
Southern Ethiopia; communities in and around the Mago corridor from Jinka
About
Mursi Area
Visits in the Mursi area, when locally arranged and appropriate, focus on cultural understanding: livelihood, cattle, agriculture, social traditions, environment, history and change. Guides should not reduce the community to a photograph. If photography is appropriate, guests must ask permission.
Particular cultural ceremonies are never promised. Particular village experiences are never guaranteed. Local life is not a performance. Time in Jinka afterward is used to slow down — coffee or a selected community experience if available — rather than rushing to the next label on a map.
