Boat time on a major southern Rift Valley lake

Southern Ethiopia
Lake Chamo
Southern Rift Valley; beside Arba Minch
About
Lake Chamo
Lake Chamo is the wildlife-and-water half of an Arba Minch stay. Early boat excursions (subject to weather and operating conditions) look for Nile crocodiles, hippos, waterbirds, fish eagles and other lake wildlife. Sightings are never guaranteed; wildlife does not perform for visitors.
Paired with an afternoon or separate-day visit toward Dorze, Lake Chamo keeps the southern journey from becoming only a sequence of community stops. Landscape and wildlife sit beside living highland culture — a deliberate mix rather than a single theme day.
