Community visits focused on river livelihood and adaptation

Southern Ethiopia
Karo
Southern Ethiopia; Omo River corridor from the Turmi area
About
Karo
Karo community visits, where locally arranged and appropriate, explore river life, livelihood, agriculture, cattle, art, body decoration traditions and environmental adaptation along the Omo. The day typically combines travel through changing landscapes with community time and viewpoints overlooking the Omo River where access allows.
This is often one of the stronger photography days of the southern journey — light, river benches and open terrain — but photography of people still requires permission. The Omo is treated as a river that has shaped movement and livelihood for generations, not merely a backdrop.
