Southern gateway after the Rift Valley road from Addis Ababa

Southern Ethiopia
Arba Minch
Southern Ethiopia; Rift Valley; gateway to Lake Chamo and the Guge Mountains / Dorze highlands
About
Arba Minch
Arba Minch (“forty springs”) is the principal southern gateway for The Southern Ethiopia Journey. Travellers arrive from Addis Ababa through changing Rift Valley landscapes and use the town as a base for Lake Chamo boat time and the climb toward Dorze in the Guge Mountains. Two nights here support better pacing: wildlife and water one day, highland culture the next, rather than compressing everything into a single overnight.
Optional sunset overlooking the twin lake landscape adds a quiet close to arrival or activity days when weather cooperates. Arba Minch is logistics and landscape — the place where the southern road story begins to take shape.
